Meet the bag that started it all. Our founder’s first-ever design, this iconic drawstring bucket bag was a bold departure from her previous legal career, a leap into the creative unknown, and the official birth of Sarep + Rose. Made from hand woven, hand dyed 'country cloth' and leather. With an adjustable, wide cross-body strap, a spacious bucket-style interior and naval print with neutral tones, it's ideal for all your belongings on long and busy days out.
Please note this is a clearance item and is final sale.
These bags are made in Kenya out of East African cowhide which is considered to be amongst the softest and most luxurious leathers. Our factories are relatively small, so we are fortunate enough to know the people behind the hands that created your purchase. Our largest factory has a workforce composed of approximately 75% women. The fabric is Liberian 'Country Cloth', normally used for making formal menswear gowns and tunic shirts. It was once used as a currency across West Africa and as dowry gifts due to the value acquired by the intricate weaving process; today we are repurposing this truly authentic African fabric by integrating them with our bags.
