Q: How is our leather considered sustainable?

A: Our leather is sustainable because of where and how it is sourced. The cattle farmers in Kenya were burying the hides of their cattle after selling off the carcasses. Our tanneries now purchase the hides from these cattle farmers providing a supplemental income for them, and reducing waste at the same time. Read more about it here

 

Q: How fast will I get my order?

A: Your order will be shipped within 72 hours of being placed. We will use either USPS priority mail or UPS Ground (unless you choose something else at checkout)

Depending on where you live, when you ordered (don’t forget holidays and weekends!) this typically means you’ll be opening your box in just 2-5 business days after your purchase.

Need it sooner? Relax, we've got express options available at checkout. 

 

 Q: How long do I have to decide if I want to make an exchange or return?

We want you to be in the 98% of our community who never need to make a return, so - A whole month (i.e. 30 calendar days from date of delivery) to make up your mind. This excludes items purchased at a reduced sale price, however as a courtesy, we will do our best to exchange an item for you when we can.

(Except items purchased under our ‘Product / Bag of The Month’ promotions, which will be considered full price for the purposes of exchanges / refunds)

  

Q: Can I change or modify my order after placing it? 

A: Yes of course! We know things can change. As long as you have not yet received a shipping confirmation, drop us a line at sales@sarepandrose.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate your changes. Cancellations or refunds requested before shipment will take an additional 5-10 business days to be processed.

 

 Q: What happens if I want to send a gift to someone else?

A: No problem! Simply enter their shipping address during checkout. Our packing slips contain no price information so your lucky recipient won’t see the price and can reach out for returns or exchanges just as if they purchased themselves.

Feel free to add a handwritten note to your recipient in the ‘Notes’ box at checkout.

 

Q: How do I clean my bag?

A: Great question! For the most part, the answer really is, you don’t! Of course if something wet and messy gets on it feel free to wipe clean with a damp cloth, but our leather is moisture -resistant and normal wear-and-tear like stains and scratches actually fade over time as the leather patinas- becomes more supple, pliable and shiny.

For fabric pieces, feel free to prevent stains using your favorite brand of stain-protector

 

Q: Is fish skin leather… really made out of fish skin?

A: Yes! Fish Skin ‘Leather’ is another sustainable option in the leather industry. By using the dried and dyed fish skin as leather, we are creating supplemental income for the fishermen and reducing food by-product waste in the community. Learn more about it here.
