Every basket in this limited edition batch was individually hand-selected by our founder and purchased directly from each woman who made the basket in the Taita region of Kenya.

Telling the story

A cooperative of almost 2000 women. Each are provided the Sisal and they weave whatever they want and are paid directly for each basket by size.

All baskets named are after, and signed by the woman who made it. Each are provided the Sisal and they weave whatever they want and are paid directly for each basket by size.

A cooperative of almost 2000 women who are part of a carbon credits program to help the environment, generate sustainable income for women in rural areas, and offset economic impact of climate changes (there are often droughts, so the crops they rely on to live don’t grow as they once did).
